Sardine
I’m hooked
I’m the sardine that decided to bite
And now I smash my head into the cooler walls
As the bashing lulls me to my culling
What to call me but a cull?
A cull culpable for its own crumpling
I was reeled in with no fight, in fact a smile
A dull, dopey, dimpled smile
Looking forward to being gutted
By hands as pretty as yours
My entrails entwine with your nails
Like we’re finally holding hands
